Recently the kitchen has been alive with people and food as Westcountry PR food photographer Guy Harrop has been photographing many culinary delights for companies across the region. Food and photography is a great mix and can be so rewarding, both to create and enjoy.

Ice Cream food photography shoot finished - shame about the mess

Keeping the studio cold, sprinting from freezer to studio and back, scraping, scooping, styling ice cream, next one out.....then the next.......etc....and then it all melts. Luckily the client was very happy with the pics done by food photographer Guy Harrop. Here is a shot of the aftermath of one of the setups, who says you can't get messy in the kitchen?

Food photographer tackles some ice creams in the cold studio

Food photographer Guy Harrop has been busy scooping, eating and shooting numerous ice creams for a foodie client in the Westcountry. " Ice cream has great texture and I like the fact you have to work an idea very quickly or it's gone. No two images are the same as it is constantly changing shape, so keeping the studio cool helps. I made a little foodie story board and have been following that quite strictly", Said Guy.

Theatrical photoshoot with Perseus and the evil gorgon Medusa

A great thing about working with theatre groups is you can create eye catching images and the boundaries of your visual storytelling are only in your mind. Thes are a few from a set that Westcountry PR photographer Guy Harrop was commissioned to do this week, telling the story of Perseus and his struggle against the Medusa with the talented Multistory theatre.

Westcountry PR photographer Guy Harrop's sport images will soon be available for picture buyers online. Over the last few years Guy, has covered several International Kitesurfing and sporting events for publications and clients, and regularly supplies image libraries. His sport images are mainly of kitesurfing, swimming, rugby and surfing. Said Guy, " Making time to keep image libraries and picture buyers upto date with regular fresh stock is very important, especially when you are constantly shooting new commissions and a backlog can build up. Keeping ontop of it is the key to successful sales"

Foodie photography makes being in the kitchen fab fun especially at Christmas
