National Sheepdog Trial ticket sales for event at Castle Hill, Filleigh, Devon, UK

Recently Devon PR photographer Guy Harrop was asked to photograph the launch of tickets on sale at this summer's English National sheepdog trials at Filleigh, Devon UK.

Guy, has worked with sheepdogs and farming extensively over the past 20 years both for newspapers/magazines and with Devon farmer David Kennard photographing the bestselling book 'The Shepherd's Watch'. Guy was often seen lying face down in the wet mud for several of the book shoots to get the right images - rams battling, sheepdogs retrieving stranded lambs on cliffs, sheep farming and capturing the daily life through a sheepdog.

The event this year at Castle Hill, Filleigh will see around 150 of the country’s top sheepdog handlers and their dogs compete at the historic home of the Earl and Countess of Arran on the 19th-21st July. This will be the second time the trial has been held at the estate, the previous event was held in 2009.

Keeping your eyes open on way to photographic assignments

Shooting library stock images cannot always be planned - These two were taken on way to a PR job this week by Devon PR photographer Guy Harrop as part of a set on footpath signs.
