Wigs and beautiful ladies in 1950's dresses celebrate latest National Trust exhibition

National Trust curatorial staff get in the spirit of the classic 1950’s celebrating an  exhibition currently on display at Killerton House, Exeter, Devon. The 2012 exhibition titled ‘Gems’ showcases fabric and embroidery designs dating from the eighteenth century and includes many of Killerton’s most elaborate clothes and accessories in honour of HM the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. It runs until the 4th November.

Professional food photography is fun and yes, has its perks. Working from his Westcountry base, food photographer Guy Harrop is lucky to have such good local produce on his doorstep. And with lots of regular clients, great chefs, and an array of different lighting techniques and lenses, Guy's food photos are regularly published worldwide in newspapers and magazines. 

Devon arts photographer Guy Harrop casts his eye to the opera 'Così fan tutee'

Capturing theatrical moments during an opera or play is very rewarding for a photographer. The theatre is dark, movement and lighting change constantly, and like sports photography you never take your eye off your subject. This weekend was one of those moments. Devon arts photographer Guy Harrop was working with a National opera company shooting their promotional material as they were performing Mozart's popular uproarious comic opera 'Così fan tutee' across the UK.

Snowdrop valley in bloom as Spring is around the corner

Spring is on its way as snowdrops emerge in Snowdrop Valley on Exmoor.  They were originally introduced to the valley in the 13th century by monks from nearby Dunster as a symbol of Candlemas (2nd February) and for years the valley was kept secret by locals. Today thousands of visitors travel from all over the world to see the snowdrops which usually only last for 3 weeks. This year the snowdrops have been very early and with the changeable weather there has been around a third less than previous years.

West Buckland old boy gets his photography featured in latest In Form magazine

Devon photographer Guy Harrop features in the latest West Buckland School In Form magazine. Guy, who studied at West Buckland School, Devon shot the new images for the latest school prospectus in and around the campus. Said Guy, " It was great going back to West Buckland school and my background as a student there really helped me create some great sets of photos". Several of Guy's images from the shoots,  have already been used in newspapers and in publicity material for the school.

Largest onshore windfarm in England undergoes final testing, Devon

Wind turbines which are today, undergoing final testing at the Fullabrook wind farm in Devon, between Barnstaple and Braunton.
