modern day King Canute attempts to push back the tide Clovelly Devon uk
Britain's Got Talent magician Merlin prepares for his 3 day tidal stunt in north Devon seaside resort of Clovelly where he will be submerged for several hours on each tide until Friday afternoon on a throne in a bid to be a modern day King Canute. Giant lettuce due to heatwave UK

Google Streetview car spotted mapping North Devon
North Devon pr photographer Guy Harrop caught up with the Google street view car which was finally mapping north Devon. The car laiden with 360 degree cameras will add to the Google earth streetview, which has been widely criticised for invading privacy across the uk, sometimes allowing users to view close ups of private residential houses.

Replica of the Great Panjandrum rolls on Devon beach to mark anniversary of D-Day invasion
A replica of the great panjandrum, originally a 1944 super weapon designed to destroy the Nazis' Normandy defences, has been recreated and re-tested on Westward Ho! beach in Devon. The drum like structure powered by rockets lit up the beach to coincide with the launch of the Appledore Book festival and the 65th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. Bell rings for Appledore Visual Arts Festival
Ladies from the Torridge gig club row past the first completed tidal bell whose first chime coincided with the launch of Appledore Visual arts festival in Devon.
