Britain's Got Talent Merlin bets £50 on himself at bookies
Escapologist star Merlin, from North Devon has backed himself to win the ITV reality show Britain's Got Talent. The Westcountry Houdini has placed £50 on himself winning despite the odds being 50-1 . He was pictured outside Ladbrokes in Bideford by Westcountry pr photographer Guy Harrop who was commissioned to do the photographs.

Royal visit for Lundy Island
Lundy island prepares for first Royal visit since the Queen, Prince Philip and Prince Edward visited in 1977. The Earl and Countess of Wessex will meet the islanders to see for themselves what makes Lundy an important SSI conservation site. Lundy is norse for "Puffin island", the emblem of the north Devon island which is the only Nature Marine Reserve in the UK. Cowfights continue traditions in Swiss Alps
Herens cows battle each other to be La Reine des Reines (the queen of queens) in a Traditional Swiss cowfight in Hauderes high in the Valais region of Switzerland. The tradition held every year, decides which winning cow leads the herd to the pastures and despite it agressive appearance the competitions are more of a locking of horns and shoving match.
